Laos destinations
The Royal Stupa is a symbol of Buddhism and Lao rule and is Laos' most important religious building. The dazzling golden temple and its spire are visible from afar and locals claim that if you have not visited That Luang, you have not visited Laos. The base of the stupa has walkways and stairs connecting the different levels, designed for the faithful to climb.
Capital Vientiane is the capital of Laos and shares its border with Thailand. King Saysethathirath constructed thecity on the curve of the Mekong River in the 16th century.The old part of Vientiane is an attractive and interesting settlement along the Mekong River where ancient temples, museums, monuments and parks are all located just a short distance from one another.
It’s situated in the northern of Laos, bordered by Xiengkhuoang to the North, Vientiane to the South, Bolikhamxay to the West and Vientiane Province to the East.In the province you will find a beautiful nature, agriculture field, Phou Bia Mountain (2,820 meters high), Chao Anouvong Cave, Tad Phouyathao Waterfall, Pha Hom Hot Spring and Longsan Waterfall
It's situated in the heart of the southeastern part of Laos; has common borders with Savannakhet to the North, Saravane to the west, Champasack and Attapeu to the south and Vietnam to the east
The area was previously volcanic and is characterized by striking mountainous landscapes with wide vistas. Travelers can visit some of this still relatively isolated district, where the ethnic people maintain their traditional life styles. The Bolaven Plateau is an important agricultural base. Its wide range of climate zones and fertile volcanic soil has made it a major producer of coffee and various other fruits and horticultural corps for exports
Attapeu Province is located on the southeastern tip of Laos and formed part of the Lane Xang Kingdom during the reign of King Saysethathirath.As it is home to many diverse ethnic minorities, it is well worth visiting. The early morning market is a great place to see ethnic minorities, who come to sell their product. Most of the population in Attapeu is comprised of upland minority groups. There are 15 major tribes in the area, including Lao, Alak, Katang, Kaleum, Katou, Suay, Oy, Taoy, Sadang, Nge, Lavea, Lavenh, Cheuang, Tariang and Nyaheung
The natural resources are mountains and forests, for example: The Nakai Namtheun forest preservation area of the total 352,200 ha, the Hinnamnor preservation area 82,000 ha and Phou Hinpoun150,000 ha, These forests make the province very beautiful with many natural caves. The Xebangfay (239 km long), Hinboun, Namtheun and Namgnum are the main rivers of the province
